American Airlines Cargo intensifies its commitment to sustainability through BioNatur.

American Airlines Cargo has achieved significant reductions in plastic waste through its partnership with BioNatur Plastics, which began in 2022. By 2024, the airline replaced over 274,000 pounds of traditional plastic, resulting in a decrease of long-term waste equivalent to 12.6 million plastic water bottles, nearly doubling its impact since the partnership started. BioNatur’s biodegradable products, which decompose in 8 to 12 years, are now utilized at most U.S. hubs and in Latin America, with plans for broader use. Both companies express commitment to sustainability and positive environmental impact.
