The U.S. Postal Service has resumed accepting international inbound packages from China and Hong Kong after a brief suspension linked to new tariffs. This suspension followed the removal of the de minimis exemption for imports under $800, which has previously boosted cross-border e-commerce. While the suspension created uncertainty for shippers adjusting to tariff changes, direct injection shipping methods used by major e-commerce platforms were unaffected. Overall, the Postal Service reported a 10% decline in international volume in fiscal year 2024 due to various economic factors.
