In 2024, global air cargo demand rose by 11.3% compared to 2023, surpassing 2021's record volumes, according to IATA. Capacity increased by 7.4%, while yields averaged 1.6% lower than 2023 but remained 39% higher than in 2019. December saw a 6.1% demand increase year-on-year, with capacity up 3.7% and yields rising 6.6%. The Asia-Pacific region led demand growth at 14.5%, while North America had the lowest at 6.6%. IATA forecasts a moderation of growth to 5.8% in 2025, influenced by economic factors and geopolitical challenges.
