Nippon Express has teamed up with Honda for the SAF air cargo project in Tokyo.

Nippon Express has been appointed as a cargo agent for the Tokyo metropolitan government's Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) initiative, which supports compliance with Scope 3 emissions requirements. Honda Motor has joined this program as a shipper, and both companies have signed a transaction agreement valid until January 31, 2025, under which Nippon Express will provide Honda with a CO2 reduction certificate for its SAF usage. Nippon Express aims to assist Honda in reducing Scope 3 emissions and has prioritized expanding SAF use as part of its climate strategy, targeting a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2050.
