In February 2025, Maersk A/S and Hapag-Lloyd AG will launch their operational collaboration, Gemini Cooperation, aimed at creating a flexible ocean network with over 90% schedule reliability. Following their announcement in January 2024, the companies are finalizing details of a joint freight network for East-West trades, including a new route via the Cape of Good Hope due to disruptions in the Red Sea. The network will feature 27 to 29 mainliner services and 30 shuttle services, utilizing 300 to 340 vessels, with a commitment to maintaining high reliability standards for customers.
