Glasgow Prestwick Airport receives its inaugural e-commerce flight.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) and Royal Mail celebrated the inaugural full e-commerce cargo flight, operated by Silk Way West Airlines on behalf of Zhonger Express and Jumen Logistics. The flight carried a 90-tonne shipment for Royal Mail, featuring products from major platforms like Temu and TikTok. PIK aims to enhance its role as the UK's international e-commerce hub and has invested over £2 million in cargo equipment to ensure efficient operations. Partnerships are set to expand, with plans for regular flights and exporting Scottish products to Asia.
