Air freight rates increase during the robust peak season, according to the TAC Index.

As of December 16, air freight rates have risen slightly, with the global Baltic Air Freight Index up 0.8% week-over-week and 0.5% year-over-year, indicating a strong peak season despite increased capacity. Outbound routes from Hong Kong saw a 1% increase week-over-week but remain down 4% year-over-year, while Shanghai's rates fell 1% week-over-week yet are up 0.7% year-over-year. Rates from Europe generally increased, particularly from Frankfurt and London Heathrow, while Chicago's outbound routes dropped 2% week-over-week, reflecting a 14.1% decrease year-over-year.
