According to the AAR, rail carload and intermodal volumes in the U.S. experienced yearly decreases during the week of November 30.

For the week ending November 30, U.S. rail carload and intermodal volumes experienced annual declines, likely due to the Thanksgiving holiday's timing. Rail carloads totaled 189,746, down 19.9% from previous weeks. Although miscellaneous carloads increased by 236 to 7,833, other commodities like coal, nonmetallic minerals, and metallic ores saw significant declines. Intermodal containers and trailers decreased by 8.5% to 249,616 units. Year-to-date, rail carloads are down 3.1% at 10,468,228, while intermodal units rose by 9.1% to 12,749,686.
