In November 2023, global air cargo rates reached a new high of $2.76 per kilo, despite a slight two percent drop in flown tonnages compared to October. Demand and pricing remain significantly elevated from last year. Average worldwide rates increased by six percent month-on-month, with notable rises in Europe and Central & South America. Average spot rates were $3.09 per kilo, a 21 percent year-on-year increase. While overall global tonnages decreased, there was growth in chargeable weight flown to Europe from key Asia Pacific markets, indicating ongoing strength in the air cargo sector.
