NextGen Demo, the innovation center in the NextGen District at the Port of Antwerp, has marked a significant milestone with TripleW relocating its demonstration plant to the site. This facility will produce lactic acid from food waste, a vital ingredient for biodegradable plastics and biochemicals, with a capacity of 10 tonnes per day. The project, supported by a €5 million investment, aims to enhance process scalability before becoming operational in January 2025. Other companies will join TripleW, contributing to a sustainable ecosystem focused on innovative chemistry and energy solutions.
