MSC and Zim are partnering for three years to enhance Transpacific trade routes, starting in February 2025, as shipping alliances evolve. Their collaboration will include services connecting Asia with the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts, as well as Mexico and Caribbean ports, involving slot swaps and vessel sharing. This agreement aligns with MSC’s upcoming exit from its 2M alliance with Maersk. Additionally, the partnership will focus on decarbonization by using larger eco-friendly vessels, including Zim’s LNG-powered ships, marking a significant step in sustainable shipping practices.
