Mars has announced a five-year, $27 million investment through its Farmer Forward Program, in collaboration with Fonterra, aimed at reducing carbon emissions in dairy farming. Half of the funding will provide sustainable tools and technology for approximately 2,000 farmers, while the other half will serve as incentives of up to $15,000 annually for around 165 farmers who meet sustainability targets. This initiative is part of Mars’ broader effort to cut dairy sourcing emissions by over 150,000 metric tons by 2030, addressing the company’s significant carbon footprint from dairy sourcing.
