A.P. Moller – Maersk has launched its latest dual-fuel methanol container vessel, “Alexandra Maersk,” at the Port of Felixstowe, UK, with a ceremony attended by UK Maritime Minister Mike Kane and other stakeholders. This vessel is the sixth in Maersk’s fleet designed for methanol operation and part of an 18-ship series expected by 2025. Both Maersk and Primark emphasize their commitment to sustainability, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the use of green fuels. Maersk aims for net-zero emissions by 2040, highlighting the importance of low-emission methanol in achieving this goal.
