Lufthansa Cargo has enhanced its presence in the Indian air cargo market by introducing two weekly B777 freighter flights between Chennai and Frankfurt, starting this winter. This decision responds to robust demand, with an increase in freighter capacity to India and China to support the rise in e-commerce shipments. The airline’s operating profit soared 3,700% in Q3 2024, reflecting a recovery in the air freight sector. Additionally, Lufthansa is adjusting its capacity focus from transatlantic routes to the Asia/Pacific region to capitalize on growing e-commerce business there.
