La-Z-Boy is consolidating its cut and sew operations in Mexico to enhance cost efficiency, according to President and CEO Melinda Whittington. The company will permanently close its leased facility in Parras, Mexico, by the end of Q1 of fiscal year 2025 and shift upholstery production to other plants, with products returning to Ramos for cutting and sewing. This strategy aims to improve supply chain dynamics while managing staffing levels, as the number of full-time equivalent employees decreased from 10,500 to 10,200. The company operates four facilities in Mexico to support its customization strategy.
