An olive ridley turtle, rescued by the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service off Chiloé Island, was transported to Santiago for rehabilitation on March 28, 2025, through LATAM’s Solidarity Plane program. The adult female turtle, weighing 38 kg, received initial treatment at a biodiversity center before being moved to the Safari Conservation Foundation for further care. LATAM’s initiative, which has operated for over 13 years, supports wildlife conservation efforts by facilitating transportation for at-risk species, contributing to their rehabilitation and return to natural habitats.
