Korean Air has entered a five-year partnership with Swissport to manage its cargo facility at JFK Airport, starting September 1, 2025. Swissport will take full control of Cargo Building 9, a 232,500-square-foot terminal, and plans to enhance operations through automation and eco-friendly technologies, increasing annual capacity from 200,000 to 295,500 tonnes. Initially staffed by about 80 employees, the workforce is expected to grow to over 390. The partnership aims to improve service quality and sustainability, including introducing electric ground support equipment and biodegradable products.
