Kuehne+Nagel has launched a carrier engagement sustainability program to promote a more sustainable future in air logistics. The company has signed memoranda of understanding with fourteen global airlines, including American Airlines and Lufthansa Cargo, to reduce the environmental impact of airfreight. The collaboration will focus on sustainable aviation fuel, transparency in emissions tracking, and a holistic approach to sustainability. These agreements address approximately 50% of Kuehne+Nagel’s air freight emissions, with plans to expand partnerships to cover more emissions in the future.
