In January 2025, Cathay Cargo transported 13.7% more cargo, totaling 130,572,000 tonnes compared to January 2024. Available freight tonne kilometres rose by 14.7%, while revenue freight tonne kilometres increased by 9.9%. However, the load factor decreased by 2.5 percentage points year-over-year. Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau noted a gradual increase in demand for perishables and valuable cargoes, particularly from Southeast Asia and beyond, despite anticipating softer demand post-Lunar New Year.
