The International Air Transport Association (IATA) highlighted the essential role of air cargo in global supply chain resilience during the World Cargo Symposium in Dubai. IATA’s Global Head of Cargo, Brendan Sullivan, emphasized the need for safety, digitalization, and sustainability in the industry. He called for stronger measures against rogue shippers and better coordination among governments for air cargo security. Additionally, IATA aims for the industry-wide adoption of the ONE Record standard by 2026 and urges support for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, while expressing concerns over current trade tensions.
