During my shopping experiences in India and Qatar, I noticed intriguing discrepancies in T-shirt origins: a “Made in Bangladesh” label in India and “Made in India” shirts in Qatar. This reflects the complexities of global trade, where products are often made far from where they’re sold. Bangladesh, Vietnam, and India are now key players in the textile industry, with India being a major cotton producer and exporter, while also adapting to rising competition and sustainability demands. As India aims for a $100 billion export target by 2025-26, its textile legacy continues to influence global commerce significantly.
