Hongkong Post has announced the immediate suspension of surface postal item acceptance containing goods destined for the U.S. due to the U.S. government’s decision to remove duty-free treatment and increase tariffs for such items starting May 2. The postal service criticized these U.S. actions as unreasonable and stated it will not collect tariffs on their behalf. Additionally, air mail services for goods to the U.S. will be suspended from April 27. However, postal items without goods, such as documents, remain unaffected. Refunds will be arranged for items already sent.
