Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) and Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) have formed a joint development agreement to enhance cargo flight connections, announced at the TIACA Air Cargo Forum in Miami. This partnership aims to strengthen the air cargo trade lane between the airports, facilitating information sharing and improving cargo operations. With a focus on aerospace and e-commerce, the collaboration addresses the underserved Chicago-UK air cargo market, which sees over 26,000 tonnes annually. Both airports operate without restrictions, promoting cost savings and sustainability in cargo transport.
