Fraport, the operator of Frankfurt Airport, reported a 6.2% increase in cargo volumes in 2024, handling 2.1 million metric tonnes due to rising demand for air cargo services. Additionally, passenger numbers rose by 3.7% to 61.6 million. Fraport CEO Dr. Stefan Schulte emphasized the airport’s critical role for the German economy as a major cargo hub, supported by its strategic location and infrastructure. Although December saw a slight decline in both cargo and passenger traffic, overall growth reflects Frankfurt Airport’s significance in the global cargo sector and its efficient operations.
