FedEx is closing three U.S. ship centers on June 2 as part of its Network 2.0 initiative, which aims to streamline operations by merging its Express and Ground delivery services. The closures will affect 252 employees across locations in Massachusetts and California, with many offered job placement or relocation assistance. This is part of a larger trend, as FedEx has seen at least 25 facility closures or staffing cuts since 2023. The company’s overhaul is projected to reduce delivery costs by 10% and significantly increase the volume processed through optimized stations by fiscal year 2026.
