The FDA is extending exemptions from the Drug Supply Chain Security Act’s final implementation deadline for certain drug manufacturers and distributors facing data exchange issues. This extension aims to prevent supply chain disruptions that could affect patient access to medications. New deadlines vary by partner type, ranging from May 2025 for manufacturers to November 2025 for larger dispensers. Small pharmacies will also receive exemptions. The phased approach is intended to help partners align their data processes for compliance, addressing ongoing concerns about supply chain challenges despite years of preparation.
