Etihad Cargo has announced updates to its IATA CEIV-certified LiveAnimals service, effective November 1, 2024, to enhance animal welfare during transport. The maximum travel time for cats and dogs has been increased from 17 to 24 hours, and a seasonal policy now allows the transport of brachycephalic breeds from November to March, ensuring safer travel conditions. Additional checks and documentation are required for these breeds. Thomas Schürmann emphasized the commitment to high animal welfare standards and meeting the needs of pet owners globally while maintaining a comprehensive range of logistical services.
