A Deloitte survey of 10,000 workers with disabilities found that while 90% disclosed their disabilities at work, 75% did not request accommodations due to fears of negative perceptions. Nearly 75% of accommodation requests were denied, often due to cost or perceived difficulty. Non-inclusive behaviors like microaggressions and harassment were reported by many, with only half reported formally. Deloitte recommends prioritizing disability inclusion through visible leadership and meaningful actions, along with educating the workforce to enhance understanding and support for employees with disabilities.
