DP World is investing £60 million in the UK’s trading capacity by ordering four new quay cranes for its Southampton terminal, which will be the largest in Europe. These cranes will enhance efficiency by performing quad lifts, moving two 40ft containers at once, and are designed to service megaships, each weighing over 2,000 tonnes and taller than Big Ben. Scheduled for arrival in mid-2026, the cranes aim to improve DP World’s operations as it continues to innovate and respond to increasing demand, further solidifying its role in global containerized trade.
