Dollar General has exited four temporary warehouse facilities in Q3 2024 as part of its strategy to enhance distribution capacity and efficiency, bringing the total closures to 15 in the past year. The CEO, Todd Vasos, emphasized that these closures will reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency. The company is also expanding its owned distribution centers and implementing automation technologies to optimize operations, aiming to reduce delivery distances and improve on-time delivery rates. Additionally, a refresh of sorting processes in distribution centers aims to enhance in-store stock availability and support sales growth.
