DHL has sold its 91-year-old Midwest LTL carrier, Standard Forwarding, to Sakaem Holdings, which has rebranded it as Standard Forwarding Freight. The acquisition, effective January 1, involves a leadership team comprised of alumni from Jack Cooper and Yellow Corp. The carrier operates 14 terminals in the Midwest, offering next-day and second-day shipping. This sale reflects a trend among logistics companies divesting LTL operations, as seen with UPS selling its LTL division to TFI International and FedEx planning to spin off FedEx Freight.
