DHL Express has partnered with Cosmo Oil Marketing Company to purchase 7.2 million liters of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) annually, starting April 2025, to reduce emissions in air freight in Japan. This agreement signifies a major step for sustainable practices in Asia’s international express industry, with SAF produced locally by Saffaire Sky Energy. DHL plans to deliver this fuel to Central Japan International Airport, marking it as the first Asian airport in its network to utilize SAF. Both companies aim to contribute to aviation decarbonization efforts through this collaboration.
