DHL Express and DHL Global Forwarding are advancing their sustainability initiatives by renewing a contract with IAG Cargo to utilize an additional 60 million liters of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for 2024 and 2025, which is expected to cut greenhouse gas emissions by about 165,000 metric tons of CO2e. This partnership marks the largest SAF agreement between an airline and a customer, emphasizing DHL’s commitment to sustainable air freight. The SAF, derived from sources like used cooking oil, offers 80% lower lifecycle emissions than traditional jet fuel, supporting both companies’ goals for a more sustainable future.
