Deutsche Bahn (DB) has successfully settled its damage claims against various air freight carriers, concluding a long-standing legal dispute regarding an air freight cartel identified by the European Commission. DB’s subsidiary, DB Barnsdale AG, reached an agreement with Cathay Pacific, marking the end of over a decade of litigation. DB’s competition experts have secured over 65 settlements and nearly 700 million Euros in damages in recent years. The European Commission previously imposed fines on multiple air carriers for competition law violations, with ongoing appeals at the EU’s Court of Justice.
