Air cargo tonnages globally and in the Asia Pacific region have only partially recovered after China’s Golden Week holiday, with minimal rebound in traffic from China to the USA. In the week from October 7 to 13, tonnages from China to the USA saw a slight increase of 1% after a significant drop of 20% the previous week. Overall, Asia Pacific tonnages rose 6% week-on-week but were flat compared to last year. Spot rates from China to the USA increased by 8%, indicating some recovery, while China-Europe tonnages partially rebounded, highlighting ongoing challenges in the China-USA market.
