In September 2024, Cathay Pacific reported a cargo volume of 133,079 tonnes, marking an 11% increase from the previous year. Despite a 4.9% rise in cargo revenue tonne kilometres, the load factor fell to 58.7%. For the first nine months of 2024, tonnage rose by 10% to 1,103,576 tonnes, outpacing an 8.9% capacity increase. Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau noted strong demand due to the peak season, particularly in e-commerce and perishables. The airline anticipates continued robust demand driven by various sectors, including high-tech goods.
