Cathay Cargo Terminal has successfully conducted its first end-to-end trial of Autonomous Electric Tractors (AETs), which autonomously transported cargo from within the terminal to the West Cargo Apron at Hong Kong International Airport. The AETs showcased precise docking capabilities and enhanced security for cargo transfer. This initiative, a collaboration with the Airport Authority Hong Kong and UISEE, improves efficiency, safety, and sustainability in cargo operations. Additionally, Cathay is testing Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil for non-electric tractors, aiming for reduced carbon emissions and continued electrification for a greener future.
