Cathay Cargo has become the first carrier to utilize the Air-Land Fresh Lane, facilitating the import of perishable goods like fruit and seafood between Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA). This initiative allows temperature-controlled shipments to transit from Hong Kong International Airport to the GBA with a “Certificate for Transshipment Confirmation” from Hong Kong Customs, streamlining the import process and reducing costs. The recent successful trial shipments of live seafood underscore the efficiency of this new route, enhancing Cathay Cargo’s capabilities in the GBA and reinforcing its status in the global air cargo market.
