Bournemouth Airport’s Cargo First division achieved a record cargo volume of 31,000 tonnes in the year ending March 2025, up from 18,000 tonnes the previous year, making it the eighth largest airfreight hub in the UK. This growth, driven by increased e-commerce imports and a surge in exports of UK-manufactured goods, has led to a workforce expansion to about 80 employees by summer 2025. Supported by a £60 million investment, including a new cargo facility, Cargo First aims to enhance its services and diversify into time-sensitive sectors like express mail and pharmaceuticals.
