Canada is allowing domestic car manufacturers to import a limited number of U.S.-assembled vehicles duty-free, provided they comply with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and continue investing in Canadian production. If production or investment decreases, the number of tariff-free imports will also decrease. Additionally, Canada is offering a six-month tariff relief for essential goods from the U.S. due to increased tariffs from the U.S. on Canadian imports. These measures aim to help businesses adjust their supply chains while prioritizing domestic sources.
