Burlington Stores plans to enhance its supply chain by purchasing two distribution centers it currently leases. The retailer completed the acquisition of a 2 million-square-foot center in Savannah, Georgia, slated to open in 2026, and is set to buy its automated facility in Riverside, California, with the deal expected to finalize in March. Owning these facilities will provide Burlington with better control and potential savings on rent, although it has led to increased capital expenditures, which rose to $844 million in fiscal year 2024. The Riverside purchase will be included in 2025’s anticipated $950 million capital budget.
