Avianca Cargo achieved record flower shipments from Colombia and Ecuador to North America during the Valentine’s Day 2025 season, doubling its capacity to meet demand. The airline operated about 300 flights, transporting 18,000 tonnes of flowers to major hubs like Miami and Los Angeles. Investments in infrastructure and a 30% workforce increase facilitated this success. Senior VP Diogo Elias noted significant efficiency gains, including a 40% reduction in processing times. Miami International Airport, a key gateway for fresh flowers, also reported an increase in projected flower arrivals this year.
