Astral Aviation, a Nairobi-based cargo airline, has undergone a fleet and corporate restructuring to boost resilience and efficiency for 2025 and beyond. The airline has replaced its DC9F aircraft with a leased Boeing 737-400F from Avmax Group, officially retiring the DC9F after 15 years of service. The new aircraft will operate from Nairobi to over 20 destinations in East, Central, Southern Africa, and the Indian Ocean Islands. Additionally, Astral plans to acquire more B737-400F and B737-800F planes to further its sustainability goals, targeting a 5% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.
