In the first half of 2024, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol processed 738,414 tonnes of cargo, marking an 8.7% increase from the previous year. Belly cargo surged by 23.3% to 305,593 tonnes, driven by a 12.5% rise in passenger flights, while freighter cargo remained stable at 432,820 tonnes despite a 5.4% decline in freighter flights. Olaf van Reeden, Cargo Partnerships Director, attributed the growth to global trade and geopolitical factors, highlighting a 13% rise in freighter capacity as Schiphol connects 303 destinations, with North American and African exports experiencing significant growth of 22% and 26%, respectively.
