Amazon is set to construct a robotics fulfillment center in Wilmington, North Carolina, scheduled to open in 2026. The facility will cover 650,000 square feet with over 3 million square feet of space across four and a half floors, following the groundbreaking last fall. Amazon’s VP of worldwide economic development highlighted North Carolina’s suitability for business. CEO Andy Jassy emphasized the company’s focus on enhancing fulfillment efficiency through robotics and automation, aiming for significant improvements in cost, productivity, and safety over the coming years.
