Aldi South Group aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, as announced on September 19. The Science Based Targets initiative has validated its ambitious emissions-reduction goals, including a 90% cut in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2050, based on 2022 levels. Aldi plans to collaborate with suppliers and logistics partners to lower emissions throughout its supply chain. The grocery chain is also focusing on sustainable practices, such as using alternative fuels and natural refrigerants, while expanding its U.S. presence significantly.
