Alaska Airlines has completed its $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines following regulatory approval. The two airlines are now working towards obtaining a single operating certificate from the FAA, allowing them to function as one entity while preserving their distinct brands. This merger enhances cargo operations, with a fleet of narrow and wide-body aircraft serving over 130 destinations. Alaska Air Cargo utilizes Boeing 737 freighters, while Hawaiian Air Cargo operates Airbus A330 freighters for Amazon. The acquisition also includes the management of cargo operations for Amazon as part of the merger.
