Global air freight rates saw a slight increase of 1.7% in the week ending February 17, with the Baltic Air Freight Index rising 12.8% year-over-year. Despite concerns about rising tariffs and the potential end of de minimis exemptions impacting volumes, rates have remained stable post-Chinese New Year. Rates from China to the U.S. and Europe increased, while Hong Kong’s outbound routes dipped by 0.9% week-over-week. Europe experienced overall rising rates, notably from Frankfurt, though London Heathrow saw a decline. Rates from the U.S. were mixed, higher to Europe but lower to China and South America.
