In February 2025, total air cargo demand fell by 0.1% compared to February 2024, marking the first decline since mid-2023, as reported by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Capacity also decreased by 0.4%. IATA’s Director General, Willie Walsh, noted that the drop is attributed to the extraordinary conditions of February 2024, including a leap year and increased e-commerce. Regionally, Asia-Pacific saw a 5.1% demand increase, while North America and the Middle East experienced declines. The Trans-Pacific corridor remained the busiest trade lane.
