In early September, the air cargo market saw a boost from rising spot rates in Bangladesh and Japan, alongside increased tonnages from Dubai. Week 37 recorded a four percent rise in global air cargo tonnages, largely driven by a five percent increase from Asia Pacific and a ten percent rebound from North America. Average worldwide rates reached $2.58 per kilo, marking a year-on-year increase, particularly from Asia Pacific and Middle East regions. Notably, spot rates from Bangladesh to the USA surged to $7.49 per kilo, a 219 percent increase from last year, while rates from Japan to the USA hit $8.33 due to service disruptions.
